Dr. Mugambi Mbaya leads supply chain programs overseing critical projects aimed at improving access of quality and affordable Health Products and Technologies including the pooled procurement mechanism, the minilab flagship project, digitalization of supply chain processes in the faith-based network among others.
Previously, he has worked with Zipline, a drone technology company revolutionizing health supply chains in Africa. He spearheaded the integration of drones into the Kenya health systems increasing access of essential medical products in hard-to-reach areas.
He has been a part of other several projects under supply chain i.e. as a project associate with the African Resource Centre of Excellence in Supply Chain where he spearheaded development of National guidelines and standard operating procedures for cold chain management of blood and blood products. He was also a consultant at African Pharmaceutical Network where he has trained and mentored young pharmacists on pharmaceutical supply chain.
