  • Join hands to reduce maternal mortality

It is estimated that the number of women dying of pregnancy-related causes in Kenya, stands at 355 deaths per 100,000 live births with most of these deaths from preventable causes like excessive bleeding, high blood pressure and infections continue to claim lives. The time for change is now!

On 27 March 2025, EPN had the privilege of participating in the Kenya Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society (KOGS) Religious Caucus meeting at Sarova Panafric Hotel, Nairobi. This powerful gathering brought together leading professionals, private hospitals, religious leaders, and other stakeholders to tackle critical maternal health challenges.

Together, religious leaders, gynaecologists, and other stakeholders can drive education and awareness on vital women’s health issues. To combat anaemia during pregnancy, EPN, KOGS, and International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics called for urgent support in scaling up Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS), a proven life-saving intervention recommended by World Health Organization and that is already making a difference in other African nations. We believe that strong partnerships are the heart of progress.
