wedNeglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) are a diverse group of communicable diseases that prevail in tropical and subtropical conditions in 149 countries worldwide– affect more than one billion people and cost developing economies billions of dollars every year 1 .
While not all NTDs can be completely eliminated using safe and effective antimicrobials, six infections that result from NTDs (Guinea Worm Disease, Lymphatic filariasis, Schistosomiasis, Soil-Transmitted Helminths and Trachoma) can be controlled and or eliminated 2 . This is usually done via Mass Drug Administration (MDA) amongst the populations at high risk (both for preventative and curative aims) and or other effective interventions that address the control and hence prevention of occurrence of the diseases.

EPN is committed to strengthening the services offered in the church health facilities and the communities that they serve. It is this regard that EPN, in collaboration with American Leprosy Mission (ALM) has organised this webinar that aims to shed light on the challenges faced in addressing NTDs and explore innovative solutions to effectively control and eliminate these diseases.
