Job Vacancy: Communications Intern
Reports to: Communications Officer
Duration: 3 months with the possibility of an extension
Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya

Job Purpose
To enhance the Network’s visibility by developing effective communication materials for members,
the public, and stakeholders. This Nairobi-based role requires an individual with excellent skills in
designing communication materials and editing print work.
Job Description (Key Responsibilities)
- Support material development and planning for the EPN Forum
- Assist in the development and review of publications and articles
- Capture, document, and collect success stories, challenges, and lessons learned from the field
- Develop compelling stories for reports, articles, communications activities, impact assessment, and
fundraising purposes
- Design concepts for campaigns and events; assist in layout and preparation of information materials
- Draft and manage social media content for Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, focusing on project
impacts and network-relevant development issues
- Other duties as assigned by the Communications Officer
Job Specification (Knowledge, skills and experience required)
- a. Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Communications or related field
- b. Excellent skills in designing communication materials and editing print work
- c. Strong writing and editing skills, with experience in storytelling
- d. Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
- e. Keen attention to detail
- f. Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages relevant to EPN’s work is an advantage
